There was a survey done a few years ago by Ken Whelan called (salseas) report, at a cost of €12 million with no positive results only further research is needed,

On the blackwater there's 4 tributers which are classified as salmon rivers which are closed for taking fish, then this makes the blackwater a mixstock fisheries and no commercial fishing should be operating, powers to be turn a blind eye on it, blaming anglers then for no fish in the systems,

The number one accelerating driving force in the now imminent inevitable extinction, of the Irish Atlantic wild salmon, is the Danish, EU facilitated commercial wild salmon sea netting fleets on the coast of Greenland feeding grounds.

This is a sham ‘regulated’ salmon net fishery, with impunity enjoyed by all participants.
